Mitsubishi A6M Zero T-shirt – Pacific Aviation Technical Sheet | Capu Mattu

V-103. The fighter that changed the Pacific War.
December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor. Hundreds of Japanese planes swarm the American naval base at dawn. Leading the charge — and on their wings — the Mitsubishi A6M Zero. Agile, fast, long-range, it outclassed anything the Allies could put in the Pacific sky in 1941. American, Australian, British pilots learned to fear it even before they understood it.
The Zero wasn't just a plane. It was a symbol. A symbol of industrial and military power that the West had underestimated. Designed by Jiro Horikoshi for Mitsubishi, it was the result of an extreme compromise — maximum lightness at the expense of pilot protection. No armor. No self-sealing fuel tank. Everything for performance. Everything for speed. Everything for killing.
Allied engineers dissected it, studied it, analyzed it — as seen on this technical drawing — to understand its secrets and design aircraft capable of challenging it. The P-38 Lightning, the F6F Hellcat, the Corsair F4U — all were born in part from this obsession: to beat the Zero.
Capu Mattu chose to pay homage to this aircraft through its coldest and most precise form — the archival technical drawing. Top, profile, and three-quarter views. The red circles of the Rising Sun on the wings. The military annotations of the era. A document that resembles what Allied engineers secretly studied to unravel the mysteries of their most formidable enemy in the air.
The Print & Stitch patch on the back — red-edged overlock, hand-stitched in our workshops — presents the drawing as an archival piece on a military olive t-shirt. Subtle on the front. Powerful on the back. For those who can read a plane as one reads history.
Like all our pieces, it meets OCS, RCS labels and Eve Vegan expertise.
