In the world of military aviation, there are planes that make history. And then there's the Vought F4U Corsair — the one that rewrote it. Recognizable among all with its inverted W-shaped wings, its long ogival nose, and its aggressive silhouette, the Corsair is one of the most formidable fighters of World War II. Designed to operate from American aircraft carriers, it dominated the skies of the Pacific — Guadalcanal, the Solomon Islands, Okinawa — where the war was won plane against plane, pilot against pilot.

And until it entered the French arsenal after the war, where it flew under the colors of the French Naval Aviation in Indochina — a little-known yet decisive chapter in its history.
