Sparkle, the Black Bird in memory of noise art.

SPARKLE — When noise becomes an icon

Some visuals go beyond a simple drawing.
Sparkle is one of them.

Born from an instinctive, almost raw line, Sparkle is a direct homage to a generation of men for whom speed, noise, and mechanics were one. Bikers, yes — but first and foremost pilots. Aviators returning from the sky, marked by war, the engine still roaring in their ears, unable to return to silence.

Sparkle is that precise moment when you transition from the cockpit to the road.
Where the adrenaline never really subsides.

From sky to asphalt: the birth of a free spirit

At the end of World War II, thousands of American and Canadian pilots returned home. Many could no longer tolerate civilian life, too calm, too smooth. They rediscovered what they knew:
👉 mechanics
👉 speed
👉 controlled danger

Motorcycles then became a natural extension of the airplane.
Same posture, same vibrations, same direct confrontation with wind and noise.

It was at this time that the first Motorcycle Clubs were born in the United States and Canada. Informal groups of former pilots, mechanics, veterans, who rode together not for image, but to stay alive. These clubs did not seek order: they sought noise, movement, the oblivion of silence.

Sparkle is a direct nod to this foundational era.

Noise Art: when chaos becomes language

The Sparkle design also fits into another culture: that of noise art.

Noise art rejects perfection, polish, easy harmony. It values:

grain

saturation

accident

imbalance

Like an engine that clacks too loudly.
Like a radio poorly tuned in a cockpit.
Like an imperfect line drawn too quickly.

Sparkle was conceived in this spirit: a visual that makes noise, even when still. A design that does not seek to please, but to transmit tension, energy, memory.

At Capu Mattu, noise art is not a graphic posture.
It's an attitude.

Sparkle, a Capu Mattu essential

Over time, Sparkle has become much more than a visual.
It has become a benchmark, a marker, an iconic Capu Mattu brand element.

Worn, reissued, sometimes reinterpreted, it always remains true to its origin:
👉 homage to pilots who became bikers
👉 celebration of noise as identity
👉 mechanics as culture, not decoration

Sparkle does not tell a fixed story.
It embodies a state of mind.

That of those who prefer rumble to silence.
Movement to stillness.
The imperfect trace to the smooth surface.
